ready, steady, relax!
The epic vacation is off to a satisfyingly festive start. Friday, I kicked it off by getting a holiday trim with the always incredible Danica and then went out for dinner and drinks with Erik (Cafe Milano and Beta Lounge.) Yesterday was the true start of the perfect vacation: sleeping in, pre-Christmas with the man, farmer’s market-ing, cooking dinner from my farmer’s market haul, and then off to Cindy’s for her holiday party. It was pretty near to perfection.
Erik and I had fun frolicking around in our freedom.
We got our breakfast at a little vegan food stand and enjoyed it on a bench near the farmer’s market.
I got ingredients to make this recipe for soft-cooked eggs over vegetables, which I made later that night. It was quite the hit! The yolk oozes over the vegetables and mixes with oil and vinegar for a really sumptuously nutritious meal.
Also that day, I finished my Christmas Cards and mailed my Secret Santa present!
We then trotted off to Cindy’s holiday party and had a great time hanging out with her and her zany friends.
Today, I had a lazy day of some light cleaning while Erik was at his GMAT class, and then he and Matt came over for some hardcore Lost viewing. We got through the final episodes of Season 5 – INTENSE. We are finally all caught up and ready for the new season to start in January. Ha ha, Lost viewers, you cannot ruin anything for us now!
Tomorrow I get a leisurely day of going to ballet class and picking up groceries to make dinner. It’ going to be a German lentil stew. I’m also starting a routine of waking up and reading my book – it’s pretty wonderful.
Go vacation, go! You are glorious.
